ReferWell Welcomes Kristin Myers (Peng) to Board of Directors Former Blue Cross Blue Shield Association COO, Aetna market president, and Hopscotch Primary Care founder brings more than 25 years of payer and provider leadership

STAMFORD, Conn., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ReferWell, a technology-enabled services company that gets patients to the right care at the right time, today announced the appointment of Kristin Myers (Peng) to its Board of Directors. Myers has led on both sides of healthcare: as Chief Operating Officer of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), in executive leadership at Aetna, and as founder and CEO of Hopscotch Primary Care. She brings more than 25 years of experience across payer, provider, medtech, and healthcare entrepreneurship.

Myers previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the BCBSA, leading more than 900 employees across technology and operations for a system that covers one in three Americans. She oversaw national programs including the Federal Employee Program and the BlueCard network, and launched new capabilities in generative AI, data and analytics, and interoperability.

Before BCBSA, Myers spent nearly seven years at Aetna, a CVS Health company. As President of the Great Lakes Region for Commercial and Medicare, she led a $4 billion business to record revenue and profit growth and earned Aetna's President's Circle award in 2017 and 2018. Earlier, as President of Aetna Student Health, she led a turnaround of the $750 million business and launched new care management programs for members. On the provider side, Myers founded Hopscotch Primary Care in 2020 and led it as CEO, building a model to expand primary care access for rural Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Myers is currently CEO of Fay Nutrition, a company building the technology and care infrastructure to make nutrition a core, scalable part of U.S. healthcare. She serves on the boards of Arcellx and Curex and is a member of YPO Chicago.

Myers has spent her career bringing payers and providers together to improve care. She joined ReferWell's board because its care navigators do exactly that, getting people to the doctor and supporting the care teams who treat them. She believes the work leads to better access, better outcomes, and more affordable care, especially in rural and underserved communities.

"I'm honored and excited to welcome Kristin to our board," said Eric Rosow, CEO of ReferWell. "Having led payers, providers, and her own company, she brings exactly the perspective ReferWell needs to bring those worlds together for patients. We share a core belief that success is defined by impact and culture, and I'm grateful to have her pulling alongside us."

"U.S. health care spending is projected to reach $6 trillion in 2026, and 90% of it goes to caring for people with chronic and mental health conditions," said Myers. "We need a new operating model for health care, one that gets patients the care they need and keeps them healthy. I'm thrilled to partner with Eric, his all-star team, and an experienced board to make that the standard through ReferWell's mission."

Myers holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she co-chaired the HBS Healthcare Conference. In 2025, she received a Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of Wisconsin–Madison College of Engineering.
