First Command Names Brent Korte As New Chief Marketing Officer FORT WORTH, Texas--( BUSINESS WIRE)-- First Command Financial Services, Inc. announced today that Brent Korte has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer. Korte brings more than 25 years of marketing leadership experience across financial services spanning banking, wealth management, product development and insurance. He will be responsible for providing strategic leadership across marketing for the company.

“Brent will be a tremendous asset as we continue to execute our long-term strategy to serve more military families, and to serve them better,” said First Command President/CEO Mark Steffe. “He has spent his career building marketing organizations and driving growth at respected names in financial services, and he understands the trust, discipline and long-term perspective that our clients—the men and women who serve our Nation—deserve.”

Korte will report directly to Steffe and partner with leaders across First Command to strengthen the company’s brand, enhance client engagement, support Financial Advisors, and advance the enterprise’s long-term growth strategy. He will serve on First Command’s Executive Leadership Team.

Korte joins First Command from Ameritas, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer—the company’s first. During his tenure, he built a 70-member, enterprise-wide marketing organization encompassing digital, communications, data science, innovation and community relations, and led a full digital transformation. Prior to Ameritas, Korte served in leadership positions with LPL Financial, BlackRock’s iShares business, T. Rowe Price and Washington Mutual.

Throughout his career, Korte has also been deeply engaged in community initiatives focused on financial literacy and education, including programs supporting underserved youth and individuals transitioning to independent financial lives.

“First Command’s Mission is genuinely compelling—coaching those who serve in their pursuit of financial security,” Korte said. “I’ve spent my career in financial services, and I’ve seen firsthand the impact a clear, purpose-driven organization can have on the lives of clients. The opportunity to build on what this team has created and help more military families is one I couldn’t pass up.”

Korte succeeds Kellie Richter, who built a client-centered marketing organization during her tenure as Chief Marketing Officer. Richter has since been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, where she brings her deep focus on the military client experience to First Command's operational transformation as the company works to serve more military families — and to serve them better.

“Serving as Chief Marketing Officer has been an incredibly meaningful chapter for me, especially as we built a more client-centered marketing organization focused on the unique needs of military families,” Richter said. “As I transition fully into my role as Chief Operating Officer, my focus is on scaling that same client experience across the enterprise as we continue evolving how we serve more military families—and serve them better. Brent is a proven leader with deep industry expertise, and I’m confident he will continue to strengthen our brand and clearly articulate the value we deliver to those who serve.”

Korte holds a Bachelor of Science in Global Studies and an MBA from the University of Washington. He and his wife, Robin, have two grown children and are relocating to Fort Worth.
