Marquis Who's Who Honors David Arvan for Excellence in Software Engineering, Technology and Entrepreneurship RALEIGH, NC / ACCESS Newswire / November 3, 2026 / Marquis Who's Who is proud to honor David Arvan as a Top Professional for his accomplishments in software engineering, blockchain technology, entrepreneurship and shared workspace development. Mr. Arvan's recognition reflects a career marked by technological innovation, international experience and an ability to move successfully between established technology companies and entrepreneurial ventures.

Mr. Arvan is co-founder emeritus of The Works Coworking, a shared workspace venture he helped establish in 2020. Over six years, he played an important role in developing a community that attracted members from nearly 50 countries. The business became particularly popular with international professionals spending time in Croatia, combining workspace with opportunities for professional and social connection. Following his return to Raleigh, North Carolina, Mr. Arvan began transitioning the operation to new leadership.

In an interview with Marquis Who's Who, he shared that before entering the coworking industry, he developed extensive experience in software engineering and emerging technologies. He served as a senior software engineer with BunkerTrace from 2019 to 2021 and as head of the blockchain platform at Corenova from 2018 to 2019, where his responsibilities included developing customized blockchain solutions. He also co-founded Out Inc. and earlier held software and interface development positions with Yahoo!, CounterStorm Inc. and Elixar Inc.

He said in his interview that one of the defining periods of his career was his tenure with Google and YouTube from 2008 to 2015. During that time, he received two significant company honors: the Google Founders Award for his contributions to the Android team and an Executive Committee Award for his work with YouTube. He considers his years at Google among his proudest professional accomplishments, both because of the recognition and because of the talented teams with whom he collaborated.

At YouTube, Mr. Arvan worked on the front-end team and contributed to the Watch page, including efforts involving strategic advertising placement and user engagement. His work helped support the platform's movement toward profitability. He subsequently joined the Android organization and worked on Google Play. His international responsibilities also included approximately three years in Australia, where he participated in more than 100 employment interviews while helping build technology teams.

Mr. Arvan's career has also extended into autonomous technology and aerospace-related projects. He collaborated with a former college acquaintance on a DARPA-funded initiative involving drone swarm technology. The project explored a lower-cost approach to using groups of drones for intelligence gathering and defensive applications. Their work included developing a demonstration application and later opened doors to entrepreneurial opportunities in the Los Angeles aerospace and startup communities.

Technology has interested Mr. Arvan since childhood. He began programming around age 11 and later immersed himself in the technology industry during the dot-com era. He earned a Bachelor of Science in economics from Duke University in 2004, an academic background that helped him complement his software engineering abilities with an understanding of business and economic principles.

Throughout his career, Mr. Arvan has relied on what he describes as a "scrappy mentality" built around systems thinking and first principles. His approach begins with clearly defining a desired outcome and then working backward to identify the practical steps necessary to reach it. He has applied that philosophy to software development, startups, business management and personal decision-making.

Speaking with Marquis Who's Who, he emphasized the importance of mastering fundamentals. Drawing on advice he received early in his career, he encourages aspiring technology professionals to study the underlying concepts behind programming rather than focusing exclusively on whichever tools or languages are currently popular. His own experience learning assembly language reinforced his belief that understanding how computers fundamentally operate provides a strong foundation for adapting to future technologies.

That adaptability is becoming increasingly important as artificial intelligence reshapes software development and digital industries. Mr. Arvan has dedicated considerable time to studying AI and developing applications that take advantage of emerging capabilities. He views continuous learning as one of the most rewarding aspects of a technology career and expects AI to continue influencing programming, content creation, web development, writing and video production.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Arvan has supported community-building initiatives by offering The Works Coworking as a meeting space for special needs groups. He also enjoys traveling internationally, participating in technology-related activities and organizing goal-oriented social events centered around coworking communities.

"David Arvan exemplifies the caliber of innovative technology professional and entrepreneur Marquis Who's Who is proud to chronicle," the editorial team stated. "His ability to combine software engineering, emerging technologies, international experience and entrepreneurship reflects the adaptability increasingly required in a rapidly changing digital economy." Through its recognition of Mr. Arvan as a Top Professional, Marquis Who's Who celebrates a technology leader whose career demonstrates the enduring importance of curiosity, fundamental knowledge and continuous reinvention.
