Darkroom Acquired Shadow, the AI Workspace the Agency Runs On and Opened It to Every Marketing Team Now in public beta, Shadow syncs a brand's full marketing stack into one workspace where people and AI agents work from the same context. Plans start at $120 per month.

NEW YORK, Sept. 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Darkroom, the AI-native growth marketing agency behind more than $5 billion in attributable commerce revenue, today opened Shadow to the public. Shadow is the AI workspace Darkroom built inside its own agency and has run its teams on for the past six months. It is now available in public beta to any in-house marketing team or agency, with a three-day free trial and plans starting at $120 per month.

Shadow connects a brand's commerce and marketing stack into one continuously updated brand library, then puts people and AI agents to work on top of it in shared threads. Most AI tools sit beside the marketing team. Shadow is where the team works.

The problem: everyone on the team is in a different AI silo

Marketing teams now run on more tools and more data than any one person can hold, and each person sits in a different AI window with different context. The agent a strategist trains on Monday knows nothing the media buyer learned on Tuesday, and what the team knows stays trapped in individual chat histories.

Shadow's answer is to make the brand itself the shared source of truth. Meta, Google, Shopify, Klaviyo, TikTok, Amazon Seller, Amazon Ads, Amazon DSP, Walmart, and Google Analytics sync into one brand library, alongside the creative assets and documents teams keep in tools such as Notion, Slack, and Figma. Every person and every agent reads from the same current picture.

"Right now everyone on a marketing team works in their own AI silo: different tools, different context, different data," said Jackson Corey, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Darkroom, who built Shadow. "Shadow makes the brand the single source of truth that every person and every agent works from, so no one starts from zero again. We ran Darkroom on it for six months. Now we're opening it to every marketer and agency."

What Shadow does

One brand library, always current. Shadow syncs omni-channel performance data every hour, with complete historical backfill, into normalized tables a person or an agent can query directly.

Multiplayer threads and docs. Cross-channel teams work with agents in shared threads for creative reviews, weekly reporting, and campaign planning, so the reasoning behind a decision stays with the brand.

Model-agnostic and portable. Teams connect the agents they already use, including Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor, and give each a role and permissions. Through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Shadow's brand context travels into whichever AI app a team works in, and the work syncs back to Shadow.

No black boxes. Every step an agent takes is visible. Changes to a live ad account, such as Meta and Google Ads budgets, bids, and statuses, are proposed with a preview of the exact before-and-after values and executed only when a person approves them. Every executed change is recorded in an audit trail, and Google Ads changes can be rolled back.

Proven inside a working agency first

Darkroom ran Shadow against live client accounts across paid media, marketplaces, retention, creative, and digital before opening it to anyone else. Reporting and decision-making time across those teams fell by more than 80 percent, according to the agency's internal measurement. A biweekly performance creative report that took roughly two hours of analyst time per client per cycle is now produced from a single prompt, moving the work from assembling the report to interrogating it. Post-signature client onboarding, previously about two weeks, now runs in about three days.

"The best future for this firm is one where our strategists deliver outcomes on the best technology in the market, and Shadow is that technology," said Lucas DiPietrantonio, Co-Founder and CEO of Darkroom. "What we're building is what a holding company would look like if you rebuilt it today on AI, with none of the legacy drag."

Shadow operates as a standalone, self-service product, independent of Darkroom's agency business, and teams can adopt it without engaging the agency.
